Knock it off Pottery Barn. I mean it. Don't make me count to three...

Okay Pottery Barn... I love you. I really do... but your fifty dollar moss wreath is killing me here. It's moss! It's a wreath of moss! Fifty? Really? Why?

But... being the suckered in PB groupie that I am... I did it for under $13.00. How do you like them apples?
It just requires a styro wreath form... and two bags of moss. Oh- and a vacuum cleaner, some newspaper, and a hot glue gun. Tear moss in smaller chunks and hot glue to form. Fill in gaps and work your way around the entire thing. Two bags was enough to cover front and back and make me cry for a maid. (It's really messy. But not fifty dollars messy. No sir.)
About 20 minutes later... Voila. I know... it's not quite as cute as Pottery Barn's. But it required so much less of a financial commitment... so it was well worth the mess to me. Now, just hang as is, add a pretty ribbon, or use some push pins to add a few ornaments decorations, or vintage postcards! Super cute, and like all my projects- stupid easy.

Pottery Barn, you should be ashamed of yourself... Or just cut that price down for heaven's sake! I still love you though... I promise.

  1. You rocked that wreath, girl! I think your version looks BETTER than PB's! They do have nice stuff but seriously, their prices?!? No thanks!!!

  2. Sasha, your wreath is *definitely* cuter than theirs. Don't lie to yourself. It looks like they skimped on the moss, the application process, oh, and one more little thing: love. Theirs doesn't hold a candle to yours. You would never never skimp--I've seen your house all transformed for Christmas, so I know it's true.

    Keep crafting, darlin'.

  3. You showed them... yes, you did! Love that. You colors... so yummy! I am going to do something like that with different sizes of styrofoam cones maybe??? Not too sure. But, I'm afraid my 2 wild pooches will eat that moss. Yes, they would do that. Yes, they would.

  16. Sasha, you crack me up! I'm with you-Why pay those prices when you can make it yourself. I used to own a floral shop (The Robin's Nest) and I used alot of that moss. It IS so messy but really adds a wonderful touch to many things. I adore your wreath, you did a wonderful job and all I have to say is Pottery Barn better watch out because Sasha is in the house!

    Have a wonderful week.

    Love,
    Me~♥

  17. Okay - I love your blog. Love it lots.

Secondly, that looks amazing! I happened to have been in a PB yesterday and saw the EXACT wreath you are referring to and I have to say that yours looks AWESOME. Nice work. My friend I were commenting, as we were walking through both PB and Williams Sonoma HOME (which has OUTRAGEOUS prices) that the key is to go to those stores to get ideas and then replicate yourself. You are totally rocking that philosophy.

  30. Oh, I love how you say, "Stupid Easy" - making me feel pretty stupid! LOL I love your wreath - Do you do bows? I really need someone to show me how to make some bows!

BTW - I think you need your own television show for people like me and name it "Stupid Easy" - so it's very clear that I need to watch it!

Merry Christmas, Sasha! Wish you lived nearby!

  34. I just love your colors, have I told you that?

I used to do all blues and silvers and then last year decided I want to change to reds and whites and silvers and now I sort of want to do all metallics.

But I won't change colors again.. not me. I think though, that I might have to decorate by room now...
