I've been sorting through the 3,941 photos that have been compiled from everyone who went to India with my husband, in order to create a hardbound photo book. Yes, that was 3,941, thankyouverymuch. And yes, I am crazy.
You see, I'm having a really hard time narrowing down my perfect idea of a cover photo.
I am normally the most decisive person I've ever known. Give me six choices, and I'm good with ten seconds to decide.
For some reason, the same doesn't seem to apply for 3,941. I'm not really sure why.
It seemed like such a simple task. Choose one. Only one. And like that one the best.
Only, I can't choose...
So will you help me? Don't scroll up- just yell out (Or in your case, type in comments.) the first one that struck you in this grouping of photos. Seriously, don't look back up- I want your gut reaction here.
Thanks peeps. You know I love ya.
Sincerely,
Frazzled and drowning in a sea of photos,
(Photo credits go to the talented Emylee B.)

My humble vote is the second picture of the elderly woman. She is the epitame of India, I think.
ReplyDeleteFirst or second....I know that isn't a single choice but both of those caught my eye.
ReplyDelete2nd photo!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the first one of the beautiful girl!
ReplyDeleteJanet
#2, i'm just not sure why, i love the lighting but i can almost FEEL her...
ReplyDeleteI like the last one the best!
ReplyDeleteThe very first one. It went straight to my heart.
ReplyDeleteThe first one for me!
ReplyDeleteOkay, time to let out a deep dark secret. I scroll to the bottom of posts and read backward. NO joke. I read magazines this way, too. I'm weird, I know. So, that being said, the picture that stood out to me the most was of the flower. Only because I just bought some bulbs that look just like it. However, for a photo book cover, I would totally go with the picture of the older woman, the second picture I believe. That says India to me more than a flower does. Make sense?
ReplyDelete#1 and I didn't scroll back up. But I also liked the old lady one. But the young girl stood out to me the most.
ReplyDeleteI'm partial to the first one, but the second one as well. My choice is either one or two. Can't decide.
ReplyDeleteAfter looking at the photos again, I choose the first one, because I love the colors and her smile.
ReplyDeleteFirst or second, but leaning towards the first! :)
ReplyDeleteThe second one of the older woman. It was beautiful and will look great on the cover!
ReplyDeletePlease share more; more pictures and the story behind the reason for the trip!!
God Bless,
Nicole
forth one down. but i'm the only one apparently.
ReplyDeleteThe elderly woman. That is the one. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe elderly lady, or the bottom one. Love them all tho!
ReplyDeletethe girl in the 1st picture :)
ReplyDeleteFirst one with girl and jewels on her forehead.
ReplyDeleteI totally scrolled up, bit of a rebel, but second glance confirmed my first instinct, #1. Great colors.
ReplyDeleteThe first one. It was my gut reaction but I totally looked again. To be sure. And I was. But they all seem to tell a story in and of themselves. So I get your dilemma. But all of them are just so beautiful.
ReplyDeletelove love love the first one....
ReplyDeletei like the first one or the last, but they are all beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the first or last. Both stunning little girls! I guess the last was a little lighter...but that could be fixed :-) Good luck! I look forward to hearing what you choose. ~Kristin from Windy Poplars
ReplyDeleteThe first one. I like the second one equally, but the first one caught my eye first.
ReplyDelete1st or 2nd!! But the 2nd of the elderly woman is so striking!
ReplyDeleteNUMBER TWO GIRL!!!
ReplyDeleteNumber 2. Couldn't get her out of my mind even before reading on. Totally how I would picture India and the photograher in me loved everything about it.
ReplyDelete#3 with the blue 'dress'. Love the blue!!!
ReplyDeleteThe lady in the blue has such hope and joy in her face... and the lady behind her in the pic has the sweetest expression.... they both captured my heart as soon as I saw them! If I were there person, I would want to go chat with her!
ReplyDeleteHi - really nor sure this is going to help as its a wildcard vote but I like the final one. Those downcast eyes (isn't there something in Indian culture and the caste system and not looking people in the eye if they are a 'higher' class?). I think its mysterious..I want to know more...and its very personal. LB x
ReplyDeleteThe first one stuck...radiance and colours...though if I were to include the other photos in the previous post its the blue eyes that I just keep seeing!
ReplyDeleteApparently I am alone in my love for the third one. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteoh...the first one!
ReplyDeletethis is gut reaction...which this is coming from one indecisive person here....
ReplyDelete4th one down...
I don't know why....I just think it is beautiful and the one I can't get out of my mind...
I think I may be the only one...but that's okay
#1!
ReplyDeleteOkay...I think the 3rd one speaks volumes...I wonder what those ladies are thinking...the one in the front looks joyous..the one behind her looks almost mischevious and the child yawning in the background says something else. Although, reading other commenters, I agree with all of them! What a dilemna...they are all gorgous.
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful but I really love the first one!
ReplyDeleteSasha,
ReplyDeleteI would choose the first one because I think that really represents one of the main reasons why they went over there.
Tcarrick
1st photo... the book will be stunning, good luck with it all!
ReplyDeleteMikal
Hi Sash, For some reason the 2nd older lady sticks in my mind...I love the last one too.
ReplyDeleteThe top one, no doubt. It could be no other. The picture is clear, the colors are vibrant, the dress is native, the background is a wonderful contrast to the fanciness of her outfit, her expression is darling and reaches through cultures to show that kids are kids are kids.
ReplyDeleteWhoever took this one got a brilliant shot. I'm full of admiration...and longing to go to India.
I do love the second picture of the old woman, but I don't think she belongs on the cover. Could you do a dedication page right after the cover? Something that thanks the photographers for bringing alive the people of India to all who view their pics? I would stick her picture with something like that. Because she does seem so real, but I think the first girl draws us in more, welcoming us into the book, into the world of India.
And that's all I got to say about that. :)
#2, it struck me right away.
ReplyDeleteThe first one! I can just see, through her smile, that she has dreams, joy and hope. It is so full of life, color - will she be a lemonade makin' mama, a missionary woman, a CEO, a teacher?
ReplyDeleteThe lady with the laundry hanging behind her? I think it was laundry....
ReplyDelete3rd one hit me before I knew what you were asking ... it actually lifted my heart!
ReplyDeleteJust stumbled upon your blog and I love it! I'm now a new follower! The second photo speaks to me personally...however, they are all stunning and lovely!
ReplyDeleteI know that isn't a single choice but both of those caught my eye.

to me the second one is powerful
ReplyDeletebut i love the last one too
xo
#2 that precious woman. I LOVE the lines on her face. Made me feel like each one of them told a story and were earned somehow. Glad I don't have to make the final say!!
ReplyDelete#2.
ReplyDelete#2. Every line in her face could probably tell a story that would change our lives and way of thinking.
ReplyDeleteI would choose number 2 out of these, but I can't get the image of the child with the incredible blue eyes from your other post out of my head. I LOVE that one!
ReplyDeleteNumber One! Whoever took this photo is a great photgrapher. I love the vibrant colors and the smile on the girls face says it all! She is wearing a beautiful and native dress. It really speaks to me. I just love it!
ReplyDelete#1 or #2. Oh my all these images are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI vote for the last pic...it is breath taking! Good luck missy :o)
ReplyDeleteOkay I love the first one b/c it's just soo cute and she's darling, but something with the fourth one is really catching to me. My mind starts to make a story for her ...don't know what it is but there's something that's different with that one.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and can't wait to know which one you pick girl!!!
I love the old lady. That was such an easy decision!!!
ReplyDelete(Unless of course, they went for kids...then the first one. But otherwise, the lady.)
I vote for the second one. Something about her eyes.
ReplyDeleteWithout scrolling back up, the one I thought about the most was the one with the girl in blue because of the expressive look on her face. A glimmer of hope across her face, but a bit of desperation in her eyes. The peaceful gaze of the gal behind her. Very thought provoking.
ReplyDeleteThe woman. She stuck in my head and struck my heart. It's her because she tells you a story with one look. I'm calling her " Chai Tea Makin' Mama"
ReplyDeleteFirst one! I would say because the smile on her face shows happiness, her eyes shows her aspiration to grow up into a beautiful and strong lady, the attire shows how colorful our culture is and yes I am an Indian.
ReplyDeleteMamta.
My vote is for the old woman. There is just something about it that speaks volumes to me.
ReplyDeleteI vote for the first one...but half a vote for the second one...
ReplyDeleteNew to your blog and have not scrolled down to see all about this trip to India. So, w/out that and w/ all that I am learning in my photography class I say number one. Beautiful shot w/ bright colors etc. But you know the stories and what the emotionally perfect photo would be. I do agree w/ some others too and could be swayed to number 2 or 3.
ReplyDeletethe first one, but if I was going for my fave, I say Adrains pic of the person on the stairs wearing bright red, I still think about that one. :) ps you showed up in my followed posts again, how awesome is that!
ReplyDelete#1 definately
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the first one, but the third would be my second choice. Such beautiful color.
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely photos but I like the third one. It really speaks to me. I love the depth and the look everyone's faces. I think it has a story to tell all on it's own!
ReplyDeleteLove the first one of the beautiful girl!
