(365) Photography project

I've researched a little and asked around, about the idea of posting a photo a day, (365 project) for an entire year.  After that, I decided in order to keep my own sanity, I'd post a photo on this blog every day, and put (365) in my title, as well as number my photos for each day.
I'll still continue to post regular posts, a few times a week like I have been, (and include my daily photo at the bottom or within each post, making note of it) but on all the other days, I will simply post a photo for the day.  At the end of the year, I'll figure out what to do with them.  (Perhaps some amazingly techy-blog person will be able to help me get this blog the way I want it,and show me a great way to organize them.)

I would love to participate in a group to keep me on track, get occasional assignments and glean inspiration, but I couldn't find anything like that, so I'm just doing it my way.  I begin on January 1st.  (Doesn't the face I'm making in this one crack you up?  I guess I make this weird squinchy face when I shoot.  Thought you'd enjoy that.)
See?  I'm doing the squinchy face here too.

If you want to join in, you're more than welcome!  Simple as that.  We shall see what we can do! (If you join in, be sure and let me know occasionally.  I always love seeing the world through another person's lens.)

Snap happy, y'all!

  2. There are a lot of photograph challenges out there! The Paper Mama has them, as well as I Heart Faces. It's a fun way to stay out of the photog rut.

  5. Like your idea..might just copy you...again! My sister did a photo a day several years ago and had a book made (Snapfish or Shutterfly)at the end of the year...no captions, just the photos in order. Fun to look back and remember.

  8. Hey Lmm,
I started the 365 project this year, and it was halfway through January so I called it "Not Quite 365". That way if I did not get a photo in (which did happen) I didn't beat myself up and feel so bad about it.

I also started a second blog so that I could post the pics for 365 there. That way at the end of this year I can just type the url for that blog into Blurb and immediately print my book for it.

Good luck with your project! Have fun!

  9. Sasha,

Look at http://jessicaturnersblog.blogspot.com/. Her blog is called The Mom Creative. She has done a similar thing, but she does something called a Project Life album...there is a link on her blog.

I absolutely love your blog and I think this is a fabulous idea--I'm gonna try it too :)

  10. I think I'm going to join in... I have another blog that I think I will do it on and post it to the side bar of my regular blog... Maybe a verse for the day type of thing to go with it. Hopefully I can keep up! Ha!

  11. I'm on day 160 (or somewhere around there) and I have a separate tab on my home page for my daily pics. I like doing it that way so it's on my blog (as opposed to having a whole other blog for just the 365) and it's not clumped together with other posts. Just my two cents!

  12. Great Idea...guess what I got for Christmas, two cameras to be mounted outside one is for birds and the other flowers..TIME LAPSE!!!!!!!!! I mean, does my man know me or what! So maybe I'll start a blog with those pics, who knows what I'll do. But the squinchy photo, made me say..she looks like Brenda! That's a good thing...and yes I will get in contact with her. Jerr's health issues have been overwhelming and with the holidays I have been so busy..to the NEW YEAR and BEYOND!

  19. Great idea! I think I'll join you too. I just switched over to wordpress, so I'm having some growing pains, but this sounds like fun!

  20. I love that idea! I don't know if I'd actually take the time to post a photo each day, but I really like that idea of taking at least one a day. I would love to see what you (and others) come up with, and I'd love to join in (from time to time...)

  21. My friend Lisa did this exact thing. Then, she went to Blurb I think and was able to print the book, coffee table style from them. They downloaded it from the blog and everything. The book says it all really. Hubby did this but only on Wed and he took camera to work. The book was called 52. I love it!!!! Good luck, and I can't wait to see the pictures.

  22. I'm in! I have a friend that wants to do this as well. Are you going to put a group together on Flikr or somewhere? That way we can see everyone's photos for the day. They can post their settings, and what they were trying to accomplish with their photo that particular day. :) I've wanted to do this for some time, just needed to get motivated.

  25. I was planning on doing this too! I did "photo a day" this summer when I wasn't able to do a lot of posting due to health issues. When I stopped, I got a lot of emails saying they missed the POD posts. Fun, I'll look forward to seeing yours too!!

  26. I have been on the lookout for a 365 day project! I would always come in at the middle or end though. Never the beginning, until now!!

This will also inspire me to start a blog....again. I've done a personal blog twice; and both times I toasted it. Maybe this will help me keep up with the commitment. :D
