Most intruiging...

To round out this year, I had planned on doing something wonderful, about my top favorite posts from the past year, but since most of them are on my side bar, it seemed redundant. Instead, I decided to throw you some really crazy stuff.  Are you ready?  Are you sure?  Okay, my top five most intriguing people of 2010....

Number five:
This blog has never been, nor will it ever be a place for politics.  But regardless where you fall, you can't deny that Sarah Palin is a kick-hiney woman.  I love watching her show on Alaska.  She is completely fearless, and I totally admire her for that, as well as the fact that she loves being out-of-doors, and so do I!

Also, I love the fact that I'm not the only woman who puts lipgloss on, when I hike.

Speaking of people who like to be outdoors and hike... my number four most intriguing person of 2010 is the wife of Bear Grylls, Shara.
Because I'm the mother of JJ, I know all about Bear Grylls, and I even follow him on twitter and facebook.  In case you don't, all you really need to know is that he's about the coolest guy on earth.  He jumps out of planes and shows you how to survive in case you're ever stranded somewhere.  However, he eats the most disgusting things while in survival mode.  I 've even seen him drink the liquid from camel dung before.  Which is why his wife intrigues me.  She must be quite a woman.
Of course, he does have a lovely British accent....
And truly knows how to rock a bright colored puffy coat.  Still, I think she must be pretty amazing.
Speaking of people with lovely accents... my number three most intriguing people award (this is starting to get fun) goes to Kate Middleton.
I pick her because she wears the most darling hats that no one in the real world gets a chance to wear, and she is elegant a classy.  I would have tea with her in a heartbeat!
Of course, he's not so bad either.  I can't wait for their big day!
If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know how I feel about Matt Damon.  He easily makes my most intriguing category and comes in at number two.  I will always adore him because of the Jason Bourne trilogy, which my man gave to me last Valentine's day.  He's so likable, and I bet he'd be a ton of fun at a BBQ.
I loved his character in the new movie, True Grit.  The fact that I only get to see about one movie-theatre movie a year might have had something to do with me loving this movie.  Or it might have been the fact that when I do get to see that one movie, I love it when it's not full of awful language or scenes that make me cringe.
Which leads me to my number one slot. The group, "Committed."  I fell madly in love with the show, "Sing Off," because Glee so badly let me down this season by pushing every hot button known to man and making me wish I'd never said I liked it last season.  (Which sadly, I don't anymore, just so we're clear.)  I like shows that I can watch with my children, and this one was a good one.  I loved watching the entire show, but the group, "Committed"  truly won my heart.  What a neat group of guys.  I hope they do well this year.  (I also hope that "Sing Off" doesn't decide to depart from it's fun-loving themes to tackle hard core, questionable issues in the upcoming seasons.)

And there you have it.  My top five.  What are your top five most intriguing personalities of the past year?

  1. What a GREAT post and fun insight! I haven't even thought about intriguing people this year!lol! I do have a fetish for Matt Damon, though. Back when they were younger I always thought him, Mark Whalberg (Marky-Mark) and my hubby would easily pass for brothers. Not so much now so if you look at my hubs and think "she's crazy!" you gotta think of them all in their 20's. We are only a couple of days away from 365! Woot!!!!

  2. Great list! I agree about the movie theaters...we don't go very often either and are pleasantly surprised when there's a decent movie. I was disappointed by Glee, too. So sad that shows start with something good and take a turn for the worst. Can't wait to see your list next year! (I know...I'll hush! It'll pass too quickly!) ;)

  3. Love Kate's hats. And her ring..which was Diana's ring...and is the one my engagement ring is based on. Only mine's not 18 carats. But I digress.

Very intriguing list Sasha. I'm still mulling it over and thinking of my own.

    Happy New Year!

  6. My husband watches Survivor Man on Netflix and I often wonder about Mrs. Bear.
Can you even begin to imagine what it's like to be Kate Middleton?!? I think it would be a bit overwhelming.

And Committed. Oh Committed! We cheered when they won! I could do without Nicole's innuendo laden comments but that was a great show! And you made me really happy I never jumped on the Glee bandwagon. :)

  7. Hmmmm. I thought Glee was a really fab show but I haven't watched it in awhile so maybe I missed something. I know what you mean though when shows all of the sudden have material that's inappropriate for kids. Fun list! I think Sarah Palin is, well she's not my most favorite person. lol But I love Kate Middleton. I watched a show that showed her parents and where she lives, etc. Can you imagine your daughter marrying a PRINCE??!!

  11. I love your list. I'd never heard of Bear Grylls or Committed, but then I don't have cable or watch a lot of TV (except House).

Why is it that some people cannot let even an apolitical mention of Sarah Palin go by without informing everyone that they dislike her? It's funny and sad. Happy New Year to the Palin Derangement Syndrome people, too.

  13. I have said that exact thing about the wife of Bear Grylls... I love watching his show, and often felt sorry for (maybe even a little inspired by) the lady who does his laundry! ;)

  17. Mmmm... Matt Damon... *drool*

You're right, he would be super-fun at a BBQ. I could totally see him hanging out with a beer in one hand and his other arm around me, and then we'd leave the BBQ and...

    Oh. sorry.

I also agree that Kate Middleton is aweseome. I love that fascinator in the photo. I think they are coming back into vogue in the states and hopefully she will help with that. Hooray. :)

    Have an Extraordinary Day!

  23. that is a good list! Love your comment about glee because I didn't realize that is exactly how i felt. I didn't watch season one, just started this year and I adore the music. Wish they would just sing the whole show through!
And, my mom thinks I should see True Grit because she loves the original John Wayne version and now maybe I'll go since you liked it so much. Thanks for your list. That was fun.

  24. I have to say these folk's peak my interest too. We don't have TV, so some I know about more than others, but mercy what is it about some that make you wish they could sit at your kitchen table and have coffee with you?!

I always love to read what you have to write...all the best to you in the upcoming year.

  25. Just came across your post through Humble Pie.
I've spent the last hour creeping through your archives :) LOOOVE your blog!!! So inspirational and fabulous! Can't wait to read more!
Have a great New Years with your family:)

  26. I thought everyone felt like I do.. That Palin is completely ridiculous. I can't even tolerate the sound of her voice. I wish I could, I am sure that Alaska show was amazing. Maybe I would have liked her if she didn't pretend to be a politician first and just went right to being a celebrity.

But I still love you and your happy blog!

  27. Oh, Sasha...we have sooo much in common, at least in the area of intriguing people, Jason Bourne, Bear Grylls (and wondering how his wife puts up with it!) and Glee.

    :) Love. Happy New Year!!

  28. What vanity stricken, nonsensical, dull rubbish this is. Still, it is what blogs are all about, I suppose.
