Leaps and Bounds

Hi Friends.  LMM here for a little chat about stuff.  The kids are reading and finishing up their Language Arts assignments, so I thought I'd pop on here for a few minutes.  I'm in the middle of packing, and I've got nothing left on my walls.  I spackled and touched up paint yesterday, went though two rolls of bubble wrap, three rolls of clear packing tape, and a pile of post-its.  (I have a system.)

The one hitch in my little circle of joy is that we have one of those weird situations with our buyer that probably doesn't come along every day... and it's wrapping me up in knots of worry which do not do a girl any good.  Apparently, the elderly woman who is purchasing our home with her gentleman friend, is under the impression that she's won the publisher's clearing house sweepstakes... and perhaps she did... but because she's a cash buyer, nothing on her end has to be verified until we close.  So I'm looking at about 3 more weeks of no appetite, squashing fear, and combating anxiety.  I've been told, that she's got other resources if this plan of hers to use sweepstakes funds goes awry.  But who knows, until the ink is dry, and keys are exchanged?  This is the type of stuff you just can't make up.  I confess, that in the beginning of this faith leap, nearly ten months ago, I prayed and asked God to give me an interesting story to tell.  I take it back!!  I want a boring story!!

The one thing I do know... and I believe it unwaveringly, is that God is too good to be cruel.  If this all goes down in flames, it was supposed to happen this way.  It's maxing out my meager faith account at present, but I know who's hands I'm in.

  4. I must confess, I snorted at the Publishers Clearing House part. Oh my lands, girl, you've been on a ride. Aside from that obvious fact, God is GOOD. And He is far too good to be cruel, amen.
One thing I've learned about elderly people & money: never doubt them in their ways. For all you know she has rolls of cash under her mattress. ;) I know more than one wise, aged person who does. And it's enough to buy many, many houses. Just sayin'. ;)

  6. seriously...that is the oddest thing I have ever heard. I thought maybe you were kidding on the Publisher's Clearing House part. God works ALL things for his glory and for the good of those who serve him. Glory is at stake and who knows, maybe Publisher's Clearinghouse is in the plan for her! Prayers for you and thanks for sharing this journey with us!

  7. Its so exciting to be packing and getting ready for your new home! IF somehow it does "all go up in flames" know that God has something even better planned than you were hoping for now.

He only gives GOOD gifts to His children!

  8. Hopefully you got a good amount of earnest money just *in case* for your troubles. I am a Realtor and you can make the buyer show you proof of funds if you are worried and it would be legitimate. If someone were getting traditional financing, you would require that they get pre-approved before you accepted their offer. I know that the Lord is in control and this certainly quite the story, just don't want you to have any undue worries. :)

  9. BAhahaha!!!! I can hear it now...

LMM: Dear God, please allow my house to sell fast, and I pray I would have an interesting story to tell...
God: *Chuckles* Ok!!! Never forget that you asked for it!

You can't tell me He doesn't have a sense of humor! And, really in the great scheme of time, it's gone fairly quickly. Ha!!!

  18. I suppose you'll have to wait until February 28th when they announce the winner. I am pretty sure they will be at my door though. If I win, I'll buy your house. There, feel better?

  19. Oh girl, I'm so praying for you. Praying for peace and the strength to rely on His plan for your sweet family.

I want to hug you and sip coffee (maybe wine!?) with you to help distract and make the time fly while you wait out these next few weeks.

Blog buddies will have to do for now!!!

I know you're so busy - but I want you to come by and enter for a chance to win on my blog - wouldn't that just make your day a little brighter?!

  20. I completely understand your fear girl. My stomach would be twisting and turning too. There are some nuttie people out there...let's just pray your buyer isn't one of them. It's gonna be fine! I just know it!!

  22. Oh... the way He builds our character by making us walk through stuff is so annoying sometimes. But, HE is good all the time and all the time, HE is good.

On a far shallower note, your hair looks darling in that picture. This length with a little wave looks good on you.
