Making Time

Hey Guys!  I'm just popping on here quickly, to post an update since so many of you have been emailing and sending me such sweet messages of encouragement.  Basically, I have nothing for you.  Don't you love updates like that?  Bwahahahaha!  Most of you know by now, that the elderly couple who thought they won the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes offer and decided to use their "winnings" to buy my home... didn't.  That said, they still want my house (Praise the Lord) and are supposed to meet up with a banker sometime, someday, hopefully soon. (Hopefully tomorrow?)  At this point, that is all I  know.  I have no closing date anymore that I can stand by, until we hear more, but I'm not unpacking boxes yet.
Yesterday, while I waited to hear something... anything...I scoured my entire house from top to bottom, working off a little stress.  That done, we had a huge windstorm today that knocked out our home school co-op, so we had a free afternoon!  The kids worked on their own things, and I got a jump start on my little girl's birthday party favors.  (Because birthday parties do not care if you're moving or not... you know?)
I'm came up with these creations and am making a pile of them after my birthday girl presented me with the idea and put in her sweet little request.  I can't show you them just yet, but they're turning out so cute, that I'm going to make a bunch of extras for my spring Etsy collection!  I'll give you a hint though... they will be the "mane" event at Ava's little birthday roundup.  (giggle)  The little girls are going to love them!
While I was cutting things up and stringing fabric everywhere, I started cutting out owl messenger bag pieces for my spring Etsy, but I'm not going to show you my favorite ones yet either! I've been making good use of my waiting time, since pretty much everything is packed right now.  This time last week, we were really hoping we'd be moving this coming weekend, so we worked hard all weekend getting things done.  I guess that's a good thing!
And then, my man got released from jury duty (another Praise the Lord moment) and came home early.  He told me to go take an hour to do whatever I needed to do... and what I needed to do, (heh, heh) was go to my local consignment store, where I've had a store credit building up for myself.  I put together an entire cute outfit for $2.00!  I got a little black top, a sweet black clutch, green jacket, zebra belt, black hat, and a fun green tee shirt.  (My girlfriends laugh at me because I can't just buy one thing at consignment stores, I put together a whole outfit, and hunt around for accessories and small details.  I love it!) So... all said and done, a much better day than yesterday.

As soon as we have more news on our move, I'll be sure to update you.  Thank you so much for all the kind words.  I was sad and worried yesterday, but I got over it, and I'm doing just fine now... keeping busy and getting stuff done.

  6. Holy Moly! This is just crazy, can I be the first to get a signed copy of your book after you write this insane adventure? You and yours are still in my daily prayers. I'd also like to pray for one of those messenger bags but I think I'll leave it at that for now.

And I don't think I have ever put together a complete outfit! Oh, and last year you were wearing this really cute yellow outfit in one of your pics and I did find some similar items at the consignment! Don't worry, I am not stalking, lol! 11. Dear Lord I pray,
Where there are problems and pain, give Your peace and mercy.

Where there is tiredness, please give understanding of Your strength, and show us how to tap into that strength by leaning on You.

Where there are difficult decisions to make, or confusion or stress, make Your way plain and give everything needed for us to follow where You lead.

Where there is loneliness, I ask You to renew the experience of Your nearness and draw us into greater intimacy with You.

Where there is insecurity or self-doubt, please grant renewed confidence in Your abilities, more faith in You inside each of us.

Where there is fear, please demonstrate Your love and give courage, as we know You can work out any situation for the best.
    In Your Name...Amen...

  15. I thought of you yesterday when I heard that someone won the Publisher's Clearing House here. It was an elderly woman who has lots of medical bills from her husbands illness. The local christian radio station was talking about it. Praying that everything works out accordingly for you. The owls are sew cute!

How do you put together an outfit for that cheap? I've decided nothing in Orange County is that cheap.

  20. Just remember that God wants not what's better, but what's best. Wait for his best.

That said, I love that yarn/fabric photo. Lovely.
