Me, the human guinea pig....

My sweet girl brought in this clump of clover flowers to me today, as I sat on the couch and cried my eyes out because I'm living in the land of, "We'll know more about our moving situation tomorrow...."  Children are such precious little comforters aren't they?
Also, (and I promise to connect these two things) I accidentally dyed my hair red.  Okay, so it wasn't dye that turned it red, it was this keratin treatment that I put on it for $14.00, that striped the color out of my hair and left it this way.  You see, I do these things so that y'all won't have to wonder about them.  I test things for you.  You're welcome.  Everyone's all crazy about getting these Brazilian blow outs, but it's not even slightly in my budget.  My hair is naturally wavy, and gets frizzy easily if I don't flatiron or curl it every stinkin' day, so I thought I'd check it out.  I found a do-it-yourself treatment at my grocery store.  Oh I know... I know... Don't say it... and if my hair stylist is reading this, I know she's not a bit surprised.

On the plus side, because of this, I now don't have to flat iron my hair after blow drying, thus cutting my daily hair styling time in half!  (Which I love.)  But, I'm a redish headed girl now, and I'm not sure what this means for my hair coloring in the future.  Oops. (giggle)  My husband was on a break from jury duty and I texted him to tell him that he was coming home to a red head.  His only response was a text requesting a photo, so I sent him one.  He sent me back one word.  "Hot."  I love these people!  They are so comforting...

So... moral of my story.  If you can't afford a professional keratin treatment, and don't mind two days of waxy weird feeling hair while you wait for the 48 hrs. to pass so you can wash it, and don't mind being left with redish colored hair, you'll love doing it yourself!  Ha!

Happy Weekend...and... if I get any miraculous good news about our move you know that I'll be sure to jump on here and share it!

  1. I absolutely love the hair color. More red, it looks great on your complexion!

Which means that you can seriously have ANY color hair. Well, maybe black would be a bit much. The red IS hot.

  7. I too have cried over the most simple gifts from my chidren...in fact, sitting next to me right now is an odd looking weed flower in a crystal vase that my youngest brought me yesterday. The small things make the biggest impact.

  14. So I'm responding to both your post and your tweet. Are you loudly praising the God who gives [comfort], and takes away [hair color] today[?] Glad you're grinnin' a little.

  15. I love the red! You look good as a redhead. I tried that shade of red (on purpose) in high school but it didn't work and I'm still trying to get it out almost 7 years later!

  17. The hair story cracks me up! But I agree with others that you look great. What crazy things we do to our hair. Once I let a college friend cut it at 1 am...let's just say I wore a ponytail for weeks until I could get it fixed. But take heart, yours does not look like a mistake.

Praying with you and thinking often of you about the house! Crazy how you can feel like you know someone in the blog world. You come to mind throughout the day, and I wonder "How is Lemonade Makin' Mama doing?" :)

  18. You look fantabulous--my daughter's fun word: ) I love how you go before us and share what you find out. Thank you for pioneering with the hair--I don't know that I could be so bold--besides my hair is stick straight and I'd have to do a perm or something and I think that was so 80's...but everything does come back around it seems. Have a great weekend!
