Renewal

The other day, someone left me a comment filled with truth. She wrote, "Just watched Beth Moore video last night on WAITING. She submitted to us that waiting is only exhausting if we are waiting on "the answer" or "the thing" or "the person" or "the move." Isaiah says to wait ON THE LORD and then goes on to talk about how you will be renewed, refreshed, soaring!"

I can't tell you how much I loved this reminder.  When the unforeseen junk begins littering the road you're on, and you're getting off course, it's such an amazing reminder to know that if you simply focus your waiting on the Lord, and not the situation, you'll be renewed.  (I might have to write that verse on my hand.)

And now, I'll leave you with some random photographs from our Easter weekend, served up alongside my new favorite encouragement from Isaiah 40:28-31
"Do you not know?  Have you not heard?   The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth."

"...He will not grow tired or weary..."
"...and his understanding no one can fathom..."
"...He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak..."

"...Even youths grow tired and weary, and  young men stumble and fall..." "...but those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength..."

"...They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary...."
"...they will walk and not be faint."

I guess the point is this; Life is sweet when we wait up on the Lord, and not our situation.  Gosh, I love that...

Like the fun numbered napkins I used for my Seder dinner table? I still have a few sets left, and you can order them here!

  11. Teresa- I found the letters on sale at Ballard Design a while ago. They weren't really in my price range, but I fed my family mac and cheese for a month. Just kidding. (About the mac and cheese...)

Shannan- I erase, and erase, and erase til I get that font just like I want it. And then I swear I'm never changing it ever again. (Until the next season.)

Kirstin- the candles were our Seder Order of Service taped onto prayer candles. They were also the take home gift!! (Two birds, one stone.)

  18. so very true.
we're all waiting on some situation aren't we?

it is so much easier when we keep our focus on the Lord and not on what we're waiting for....it breeds more and more trust in his faithfulness to us if we remember all that he has done on our behalf thus far.

  19. AMEN! You are so right on with this post.
We moved about nine months ago and we had a month to get a buyer and once we did we had a week to find a house. Sounds nuts, but it wasn't. I knew God had it all under control. I wasn't worried about a buyer because I was waiting on the Lord.
Oh, and I love your numbered napkins. I wouldl love to buy some, but we just finished reading Dave Ramseys "The Total Money Makeover."

  23. I just came across your blog and am so excited about exploring it! :) And, I just love this verse, too...it has been such a sweet reminder to me so many days lately when I felt my strength lacking, and a dear friend just mentioned it in her email the other day. But, one of the things I loved the most was when my 18yo nephew quoted it on Facebook! Isn't it beautiful how we find inspiration from all ages! I have a cute quote book on my desk and keep it flipped to the page with a quote about "He is our strength when our strength is gone.". Thanks for sharing your inspiration~ it was a perfect day for me to find you! :)
