Getting going...

Okay y'all.  I'm going to talk about something I never, ever, ever talk about on this blog if I can help it.  Health and fitness.  I know!  Crazy talk, goin' on over here!!  I don't like to talk about body issues and weight much because I feel like for one thing, it's everywhere, and not enough people just accept themselves, let alone others for what and who they are.  That's an entire other post I'll most likely never write.  Just saying.  I've got some strong opinions on the matter.  Second, I suffered from a food and eating disorder for over a decade, (again, an entire other post) and it was all that I talked or thought about, so I'm very cautious about talking about it, let alone going off the deep end at this stage of life.
That said, most of you know, I'm super active in life, and I do what needs doing, hardly ever sitting still for the most part... but I've been really lackadaisical on intentional fitness.  Thus resulting in flab! Shocking, I know.  Summer's right around the corner, so I'm kicking off the next 9 weeks of very serious non-cake-eating-behavior, and I'm going public because I need some accountability.  (I can count on y'all for that, right?)  Plus, I'm in Nurse Nicki's wedding in 9 weeks, and the dress is terrifying me with all it's strapless, knee length cuteness.
There will be no more of this... (Cinco de Mayo party...)
Or this... (chopped candy bar topping on the cake in my previous post)
Sigh... or this... (peach crisp topping at our last family birthday party)  I'm pretty sure I can be intentional.  I started today off with a good walk, sans children.  It was heavenly.  My plan is to do a lot more of that, along with lots of other things.  Things like push ups.  And weight training.  I don't mind it, I just have to fit it in.
Finding the time seems like it wouldn't be difficult, but I'm always running around with two the kiddos in tow, doing things for school and I don't make a lot of time just for myself for this sort of thing.  Can anyone else relate?
Alright I'm getting going here!  I love the first day of a new phase.  Also, I have a lot of ideas racing around my brain for my next big Etsy collection.  Hoping to get it out in June....  I've even got a bunch of fun new things that I hope are going to be a big hit!  (Do you guys remember that big sign I used to have on this table?  I might even be making a couple of those.  I've gotten a ton of inquiries and requests, but it's big so I've always said no.  I'm trying to figure it out.)
And in the middle of school, Etsy, fitness and life, I'm trying to take that time to stop and enjoy each sweet moment.  That can be so hard in the flurry of every day.

How about you?  Are you with me?  Shall we get fit together?

  3. You can do it! It's definitely hard to fit in fitness, but it's so worth it. I sleep so much better when I workout and I just feel better in general. I will definitely be joining you in about 2 weeks!

  10. Definitely with you Sasha. I have had yo-yo-ing weight for several years and it really lowers my confidence. I've set myself a goal to run a charity race in September and am now two weeks into running. There'll be good days and then hard days when all you'll want to do is eat cake - stick with it though and the cute little dress will look and feel amazing on you. Keep us up to date with how you're doing. All my good "keep focused" wishes to you :)

  21. sasha, I was just thinking this same exact thing this morning. I have a hard time fitting it in with the three year old in tow, but I was just thinking the other day, I could take him with me and he'd keep me on my toes. I just have to shift my ideas of "working out" a little bit, I think!!

    You can do it!! :)

  22. i am in dire need of a make over. funny how when you are stressed to the max taking care of yourself takes a back burner. time to start loving myself again. you can do anything you set your mind to. i believe that with all my heart about you!
