For my Ava

I'm not ordinarily one for song lyric posting... yet when I watched my sweet baby girl preparing for her ballet recital the other day, I couldn't help but think the words of this song were perfect for all I hope over her life. (And really, all I hope over all our lives.  It's so short!)  Someday, Ava will look back and read my blog, and when she does, this will be for her.  Dance baby girl.
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean

Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
 Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
 Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance

  11. I adore the twirling picture (I'm sure there's a fancier name for it). Her dress is just beautiful...almost as beautiful as she is.

  13. Will Ava be in the Dancing for Joy recital?
Lulu Bell will be in the Theater class dance with Madison. I hope to see you there (if that is in fact Ava's dance studio).

  19. Those pictures are so perfect, Ava is absolutely breathtaking. I was commenting on how beautiful she is and my mom said yes she is, she looks like her mama.

May I also say that her third position and pirouette (sp?) are really very, very good.
