Lil' bits and pieces of the good stuff for the weekend kickoff.

"I'm a little bit frustrated at what God has asked of me for this season of life.  It's not what I had in mind."  These words were a part of my Jonah bible study (by Priscilla Shirer) this morning and I love it when someone else says what I've recently thought.  I read further and Priscilla said, "Our inclination would be to find another route to accomplish what God requires that won't take as much effort or energy as we will have to expend to obey God completely.....The work God is trying to do in you requires your full participation.  You will find the rewards when you subscribe completely to what He asks and do the tasks how and where He asks."

Talk about a now-word!  Isn't that good?  Just a little something sweet to chew on as we plunge into weekend time... I plan to fully participate, how about you guys?
Speaking of something sweet... I wanted to share these sweet labels with you guys.  I have more on order because I decided that I needed a few more for things like brown sugar etc, and will show you them all once I'm done getting my pantry organized and stocked.  (This gluten-free thing is the best thing I've done for my family in forever.  Already my daughter has had zero upset tummies, and I can't tell you how much better I feel!)  My original plan was to collect every jar I owned, label them, and fill them with all the gluten-free ingredients known to man.  (My friend Lissa, has a great list on her blog if you are going gluten-free and need to stock up.)  Anyway, I've got a few more jars to purchase, but I already had these ones, and spray painted the lids all the same color.  I ordered these simple (and adorable) labels from my blog buddy Leen.  She is so wonderful you guys, and will work with you on anything custom like this!  Plus she's a sweetheart and I highly recommend her work.
And this photo... well, it has nothing to do with anything, but the big sign was a birthday present from my sweet friend Maria and I LOVE it!!  It makes me feel calm.  (giggle.)  Alright, I'm headed back to work now... some fun things in store, and a busy and fun weekend planned for my little household.

What are you guys doing all weekend?  Whatever it is, I hope it's a good one!

  1. You have NO IDEA how badly I needed to hear that quote you quoted at the top of this post. I was literally contemplating going to my closet, climbing in the corner, sucking my thumb and screaming over all the things I have to do right now that are not going away, and I can't seem to find any other way to do them. Then I thought, "I'll pop online first and see if there's any blog updates." and here you were, reminding me that I can handle it, with God's help.

So, I guess it's back into the fray for me. Sigh. Hopefully the weekend brings some positive things as well as a lot of backbreaking work for me.

Thanks for the encouragement. After we're moved I'm going to have to revisit this to get those labels for all my pantry stuff. I'm wondering if we need to go gluten free.

  9. I get a little OCD about organization and your pic just made me absolute giddy this morning. There is nothing like a nice neat pantry with those glass jars. I love them. I try to get mine at wal-mart, but almost always have to go to Target as Wal-mart is usually out of them.
Would love to know more about gluten free stuff.

  10. You are the epitome of cuteness and organization! Love the jars, vintage looking yet up to date. And how in the world do you keep a white divet cover white with a black dog? I tried but finally gave up. Be Blessed!
