Oh my gosh you guys, I actually made it!!

I survived hugging my babies good bye, turning my back, and walking out of a classroom today.  But I'll tell you what, the second I exited JJ's class, my eyes were stinging with the threat of tears.  I forced myself to not cry, and then I went for a good, long walk with my dog.  I have to include some official first day of school photos, even though they are little boring...I was rushing and the kids were too wiggly to stand still, so most of my photographs of the morning didn't really turn out.  Anyhow, it's my duty to our family members who read LMM, to post some of these, so I suppose you guys will just have to put up with it for a post.  (grin) The kids both had a great day, and loved it.  Whew... sigh of relief.

There is an adorable student teacher in Ava's class, who we actually met over the summer because she worked at a craft store we frequent often.  Well, she just so happened to be working in Ava's class this year, so Ava was thrilled to have someone she recognized.  As I kissed Ava good night last night, she was talking about the sweet Miss H.  "Mama... isn't Miss H the prettiest teacher?"  I agreed, she was very pretty.  "And she has all those pretty curls that she does in such a pretty hairdo... don't you agree Mama?"  I did.  "I think her real name is _____.  And Mama... don't you think that is the most perfect name in the whole world, for her?" For some reason the entire conversation made me giggle and I had to share it with you. Ava has found herself a new hero, I think.

In other fun news.... I have 6 more sets of the "give thanks" napkins in production, and a couple more runners so if you didn't get any from the first batch, you will have one more shot at them!!

  9. Congrats Mama!!! I am very proud of you. Confession - when my baby went to Kinder (all day mind you) I cried for the loss of my season of having a true little one. Then I went to the spa (a First day of school tradition, until I started working there :/) Great first days, set the tone for the week, the month, the entire school year. Glad you look to be having a wonderful adventure - trail blazing!
