Because you just never know what's around the bend...

I wasn't going to post again until next week... but...as of today, our home is officially back on the market.  I think we are getting excited.  Just a little.  We are up for an adventure.  Most of the time, anyway.  So a couple of things.  I was tempted to link my listing just in case... but then I had a scary experience and I'll not be disclosing that now.
The backyard photo is from when we had it listed last.  Now we have a ginormous trampoline back there, so I went with an old photo.  Our backyard is good sized.  It's so hard to tell from photos, but our yard has a nice side part, and then a really big garden area behind the house- four 8' garden boxes, graveled in, and ready for a green thumb.  Which incidentally, I lack.  I suppose if the next home buyers also lack a green thumb, they could just plant grass there... Anyway, my house is a buttery yellow color, fully fenced, and filled with love.  (I'm sorry... I just had to add that cheesy last part.)
When you first walk inside, you're greeted by this bonus room.  I've always dreamed of putting in a partial wall/french door combo and making this a spare room/office or something.  But we never did that.  It's a great office area and big enough for a couch and chairs and TV too.
Then you walk into a big, open room, and that's where we really live.  The kitchen... also the most important room in the house... is in my opinion, the best laid out kitchen I've ever had.  Nothing about it bugs me, and it has nice storage space.  The sink is white, and the fixtures are oil-rubbed bronze.  Love.  The appliances all stay (except my washer and dryer because we just got them this summer).  One of my favorite things about this room is the dining space.  I've dragged in huge, long tables and had big holiday gatherings.  It's been amazing.  Kids love to run around the island.  And the pot rack... oh how I love the pot rack. Also, (and I won't) I could go on and on about the wonderful parts of this room.
Okay, so adjacent to that space is the family room.  It's cozy and has hosted many a heart-to-heart chat.  I love this furniture arrangement and it works really well, but we have tried several others and they all worked too.  It's just a nice, flexible, open room.
Haven.  Seriously, I do not spend enough time in this room.  I think this room sealed the deal for me when I first saw it, eight years ago.  The nook in the back is a sweet space for quiet Mama time.  (Not that I've ever needed that, I'm just saying.) It has also functioned as a separate office, back when Adrain had his old job.  (I like this better.) The colors are a misty blue-gray, and it's a huge, soothing, beautiful room.  It walks into a master bath and a really big walk in closet.  (Which I won't show you because I throw my clothes all over the floor in there.  I need to do something about that.)
The kids bedrooms look small in these photos, but I promise they are way larger than they look.  At one point we had a huge twin over full bunk bed in JJ's room and still plenty of room to play.

Okay, well that's it for the house tour today!! Thanks for coming by.  (grin)

  5. Oh Alicia, you just stole the words right out of my mouth. LOL It is kind of crazy when you spell out the last year and a half like that... or maybe WE are the crazy ones for doing it again. But I don't think so...

Ah to trust in the Lord every moment.

  16. Good Luck with selling your home! I am hoping you have better luck this time around! You have a gorgeous home~ I am going to miss seeing your pics from it. On a side note, your comment about not posting your address reminded me of a similar experience. My daughter Ava started preschool this year and we received a letter from the school with ALL of the students' names, parents' names, our addresses and telephone numbers on it WITHOUT our permission! I know it is pretty easy to find personal info on the internet, yet I wish it hadn't been done without our permission!

  17. I know I've been seriously absent from blogland (working too many darn hours...) but a few times a week, I try to quickly catch up on your blog because I find myself thinking about you and your family. You have been through so much and been so open and honest along the way and I really admire that. Your strength is ready and waiting for whatever comes your way, as you have already shown. Stick with it. Things happen as they are meant to. Also know that there are a lot of us out here thinking about you and sending you all of the well wishes in the world.
