Post in which you help me solve world problems. Kinda.

I have writer's block.  I don't think I ever had it before, but surprisingly, I've still got plenty to say.  Ha!  Today, while the kiddos are in school, I'm doing the following: finishing touches to get the house on the market, wrapping Etsy items, and trying to decide what on earth we should wear for our Christmas photos this year.
I've got the location picked out, but I just don't know about a coordinating wardrobe.  I know I want to go with navy blue... I could go classic navy and white... which I like but it's kind of predictable and sometimes predictable is boring.  Then again... it's classic for a reason right?
...or I could go with navy and pops of fun golden yellow... Um yeah... I can promise you that Adrain won't be wearing any yellow... but I can still get JJ to layer a yellow tee under things.  I am torn....
...or I could go with navy and gray.  I like the simple navy sweater for myself and I adore Ava in that big, obnoxiously adorable gray headband... but she doesn't have a gray top, so it would need to be white or blue... hmmmm...

Help you guys!  What color scheme gets your vote??   What do you plan to wear for family photos this year?

  3. I love the navy and yellow, but also the navy and gray. I know, I'm not much help. : S

This year, I think we're going very casual and if this little gal/guy will be born soon perhaps I can get some pics outside before it gets too cold. I didn't do a family pic last year, just lots of pics of the kids together and separate. I have a friend who's willing to use our camera and take pics for us. Hoping it all works out...if it doesn't then our Christmas pic will be the kiddos lined up on the stairs by the Christmas tree in their jammies. LOL!

  4. Yellow, Blue, Gray! It's perfect, classic and not too boring. If you're a pinterest addict, there's actually a pin floating around about what to wear for family photos. However, it looks like you've got some GREAT resources.

  5. See, I would have said add a pop of red, because I love red. And yellow and I have a permanent feud going on, sort of like the Hatfields and the McCoys. But I think, in this case, yellow is the way to go.

I vote for yellow or red accents!

  8. Definitely add the yellow. I don't know what the scenery will be like, but all three colors can work real well together, at least adding them in subtle ways. I think when things get TOO matchy matchy it makes it too distracting in a weird way. Then again, I am sure you would even pull that off well! But definitely add the yellow.

  9. I like the navy and white because it's classic...but I also like the pop of color with the yellow. If everyone wheres navy and you and your daughter wear accessories with a pop of color it would make the photo lovely.
I hope to have a picture of our family in Khakis for pants and denim for top. Casual and laid back. that's us.

  10. Navy and white and gray!! How pretty and festive and COLD!! It would feel so snowy and crisp! I haven't even thought about our Christmas picture. Usually I'm up on these things, but this year we are knee deep in adoption paperwork/fundraising! Eeeep!! yay!!!

  12. Hello! New follower, here - loving your blog!
I, personally like the yellow. Can you tell me where you found the shirt with the "A" initial on it?

  13. Navy, white and gray, absolutely (maybe with a pop of red or yellow). So wintery. How can you pass up that hair accessory on your sweet little girl?

  14. Christine, I made that shirt with the "a" on it for my daughter! Well, I mean I bought the actual tee, but then I just cut out the "a" and zig-zag stitched around it and the flower. So easy and sweet! :)

  17. Navy and grey is really cute! I so go with that. Although navy and yellow looks pretty also. But I don't love the AE shirt...

  18. Navy & Gray. I kinda think the yellow is too spring/summery for Christmas pictures. But it still looks cute.

  23. Fun post! I love the navy and gray. Classy and easy to match with whatever Christmas-y border/lettering you pick. I think the yellow will clash with any Christmas theme.

  27. Have you thought of putting those on your etsy shop? I looked on etsy forever yesterday for initial t-shirts and I couldn't find any as cute as that one! My email is christineschlicker@hotmail.com if maybe you would want to do a special order????

  28. I love red and grey. My guy always looks good in a dark steel grey. It brings out his green eyes. And Ava would get to wear the cute headband. Red is such a good color on dark-haired people, like me, and looks rather Christmasy. Yes, I know that Christmasy is not a word, but I don't know how else to describe it.
