You are my sunshine.

The little family and I trekked to a public farm area, and took some photos today because we had a break in the clouds and rain.  Around here, you've got to take advantage of it when you can.
I went totally off what I was thinking, and we went with neutral tans, browns, and navys for our wardrobe.  I'm still not entirely sure that was the best choice, but I couldn't choose, so I just started grabbing some of our favorite things and throwing them together and what do you know but they kind of worked.
I laugh so hard when my kiddos get around farm animals.  They stare down roosters, and squeal over bunnies.

Sometimes the most amazing treasures are found laying around... and cost nothing.

At the end of the day, we finally got the photograph that we came for.  I won't begin to tell you how many I deleted.  Or how many I rolled my eyes in exasperation over because three of us were smiling and one of us (not mentioning any names-cough-JJ-cough) was making a face.  I don't know when that became hilarious for ten year olds.  It's not so hilarious for Mamas.  But all's well that ends well.

How was your weekend?

  4. That looked like fun! Love the pics! I know what you mean about 10 year old boys. Mine is 9 1/2 and has the goofiest look on his face for any picture taken of him. It's like his eyes get all droopy and he has this odd closed mouth grin/grimace on his face. It's the most annoying thing in the world when it comes to pictures. All other kiddos will be smiling nicely and I 'll think I got the best shot and then I'll look closer at the viewing screen and *he* did it again! grr... I feel your pain, honey! Glad it worked out for you!
