my little drop of sunshine ring

I just mentioned this the other day, but it's been really gray and rainy lately.  So dark and colorless that it's been doing wonders for my mood.  Ha!  Anyway, I was reading the sweet blog of one of my longtime favorite bloggers, Carissa (who takes amazing-to-die-for photographs and has the sweetest heart, just so you know...) and she showed a picture of a darling yellow ring.  It was like a burst of sunshine to my heart.  Which I know is rather stupid, since it didn't belong to me and all...but things around these here parts have been a little rough going... Anyway, I immediately contacted Carissa to find out about her ring and she put me in touch with a fellow Etsy vendor who made it for her.
I still had a little bit of credit in my Etsy account so I used it up and brought this home.  It's my little drop of sunshine ring and I might just wear it every single day for the rest of my life.
I mean, I can't wear it today because I've been silk screening all day long and wait til you see what I came up with all spur-of-the-moment-like today!  (Okay I'll just tell you... in a few days I'll show you... GRAY eat napkins.  Gray people!!  Holy cuteness Batman!!  One might think I'd had enough gray for a lifetime with this weather and why on earth would I bring it inside... but they're awfully sweet and so I did.  I'll probably have to pair them with my yellow polka dotted bowls, but they are oh-so-sweet!)
Okay sorry, back to my story.  I got all excited-distracted-crazy there for a moment.  It's been one of those days.

Here's what I love.

Buying from Etsy... you get these precious little packages in the mail, all handmade sweetness and attention to detail, and I've never met an Etsy vendor that wasn't the nicest person on the planet.  Ohsweetleeme is no exception to this... if you need a lovely gift for anyone, please go see her shop, post haste!  (I told you it was one of those days.... I'm using phrases like, "post haste.")   But seriously, go... she has all kinds of cuteness in there!
And now, I'm just going to look at my little drop of sunshine ring... and know that brighter days ARE ahead.  They just are.  I think.

  1. Such a sweet ring... but I'm disappointed that there are no pics of your eat napkins in gray. I love, love, love the idea of gray.

I really need to learn to silk screen - I suspect it would save me money in the long run.

  11. I understand just what you mean by your ring being a "burst of sunshine to your heart"....I had one of those a few weeks ago....I was in a store and saw a key chain that was all jingley jangley with six crosses, a heart, and the word hope hanging from it....I loved it immediately but didn't need a key chain.....Couldn't pass it up though, so I brought it home, took everything off the key chain and put them onto a silver necklace I had....I love wearing it and when it jangles I receive a little"God wink"!!!!! Looking forward to seeing your new napkins....
