My bible study leader just showed us the most (life changing) trick for memorization. I have never had an easy time memorizing verses. I don't know what it is, but it doesn't seem to be my thing. Well... no more! What you do is this- scroll to the bottom of this site, and paste the text you are needing to memorize in the box. Then hit "convert" and it converts what you are memorizing into a text of the first initial of every word for you! Use that as your help and you'll be amazed at how much quicker you pick it up. I scoffed... and then I tried it. So far, I've got James 1:1-6 down. I'm working on the next six verses as we speak! Oh and another trick, is if you recite it just before going to sleep, it will be the first thing on your mind when you wake up, and it will have stuck somehow! I tried that too... amazing.
Oh and I'm also hosting a cute little collection of favorite things giveaway over on my Facebook Page! I've included one of those little milk bottles we all love, a tin number print, a burlap bag with "Bulb de tulipe" printed on it, a fair trade salted caramel chocolate bar, some red and white striped paper straws, a necklace from Farmgirl Paints, and a fantastic book from my friend Courtney! (It's her debut novel and it's fantastic! If you need a good read that sucks you in and makes you want to climb into the book and join the characters, this is it! I finished it and am hoping there will be a sequel...)
Click here to enter the giveaway! (I'll be announcing a random, winner on my Facebook page, on Valentine's day. Isn't that fun? No one can say that we don't love our fun over there, can they? (giggle)

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the scripture memorization tip. It's on my list of things for this year and so far I've only gotten Micah 7:7 down. Sounds like you might be doing Beth Moore's study on James. If you aren't it's a good one! I'm sad we only have 2 more sessions. Anyway, I love the basket you made, you have such a good eye for what looks good and how to make things pretty. God bless!
