the big hairy deal

I have been laughing ever since I did the giveaway post because you girls have been emailing me up a storm, filling my inbox with requests for how I curl my hair.
Which is hysterical because I've been curling it the same way for years,  but apparently it was having a good hair day or something because it got y'alls attention.  I have to say, it just endears you to me further, that you noticed (and liked) my hair.
I don't own a video camera BUT I "know" someone who does, and she curls her adorable hair almost the exact same way that I DO!
 So here's my hair...

And here's the video of how she does hers! Is she not the cutest thing you've ever seen?  (If for some reason the video doesn't work, you can view it here, or here.  )  She has the sweetest blog ever, and can show you so many fun tips and tricks to boot!) So you can watch her, and then you'll know pretty much what I do.  Mkay?

And I know the above photos have nothing to do with our hair, but I wanted to show you the pillow that almost made me throw my sewing machine out the window.  I felt it deserved some airtime since it was the most frustrating thing in the entire world to sew.  I don't know what possessed me to think sewing tiny pieces of fabric to a too-small piece of pillow fabric was a good idea.  I loose my brain sometimes.  It all worked out in the end, and I covered my blue plaid pillow that used to sit on this chair because it just wasn't working with the gold stripes of the couch pillows.  You know?  It's like a domino effect and I think I'm done changing things now. Well, except that I still haven't shown you guys the huge dining table (think reclaimed barn wood) my man picked up after work for me one night.  I almost died of excitement.

I'll show you more photos than you can handle soon.  Promise.

P.S. I'll be choosing a winner with random.org tomorrow,  for my giveaway, so make sure you've entered!

  5. Your hair is lovely, but I have a pixie cut, so curling is not in my morning routine. I would like to know, however, where the chair is from...Pottery Barn? IKEA?

  6. @ Donna- the chair is from some local store years ago... and the slip cover is from Ikea! (I think it's the Sand or beige color- it's not white, but it looks white... I could never do white. LOL)

  7. Thanks! And the pillow is really nice. I do appliqué...usually with wool or felt and by hand. End products are usually worth it. Can't imagine doing it by machine, though.
