She's had a few trims before, but this was her first "big girl hair appointment" getting a drastic change.
I'm not gonna lie, it was a little emotional for me. I was excited because she had been excited, talking about it all weekend, but I was also a little sad to see the long hair and pigtails go...
I'm so proud of a daughter who wants to give back... so proud that she cares and wants to make a difference.
I'm so proud of the young lady she is becoming. She has the prettiest heart.
But... oh the pigtails. Pigtails are so "little girl" to me, and this little bob haircut makes her look so grown up!
I wish I could stop time.
But apparently I can't... so here's to enjoying the fleeting moments. Isn't she the cutest?

Yes she is, and even prettier inside to give up vanity for others. Beauty is as beauty does.
ReplyDeleteHer eyes are so beautiful! Our girls do grow up way to fast.
She is so adorable in that cut. Shows what a beautiful heart she has.
ReplyDeleteShe is adorable! What a wonderful thing to do, I only wish us grown ups (um, ME!) could be that brave!
ReplyDeleteLook how happy she is! Precious!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a brave, sweet girl! Cutting my hair is always a tramatic experience for me. But sparkles? How can a girl resist?! Super cute shirt she is wearing too, i'm guessing you made it?
ReplyDelete@ Little for a little while- yes, I did the applique on her tee at the beginning of the year. It's my favorite of all her shirts! Thank you so much for noticing. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little gal!! And what a cute new do! My 8 year old is growing her hair out for the same reason--makes a mama proud doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteAva is beautiful, inside and out!
I know it's one of those moments when you see your baby as a big girl. They bring mixed feelings. She does look beautiful! You should be very proud of her. And what a sweet smile she has!
ReplyDeleteYES, YES, and YES! Cutie patootie!
ReplyDeleteShe has a sweet smile, sweet haircut, and an even sweeter heart!
What a blessing!
xo
i think it highlights her big beautiful blue eyes and her big caring heart!!! she is as beautiful on the inside as the outside. so, it's a win for all! : ) you MUST be so proud.
ReplyDeletebeautiful ~ her eyes say it all ~ it's kinda sad when they change and grow ~ my two girls are 26 & 25 and I have a son who's 20 ~ there's no stopping the growing up ~ wish there was ~ enjoy all the changes!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a "Heart" she has!!! Love her spunky new hairdo!!! What a little doll!!!!
ReplyDeleteNancy
Ava I am so proud of you! What a sweet girl you are and you look so beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet, what a great gift she's giving.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new blogger and enjoyed your blog. Cute daughter and fun blog to read. I love your clever blog name!
ReplyDeletedear ava -
ReplyDeleteyou have done something quite wonderful. by donating to "locks of love", your pretty hair will be made into a wig. someone will wear that wig to cover the loss of her hair and that will make a tough time easier for her (maybe people won't stare so much or make hurtful comments and she can feel "normal"). you've given someone a gift that will help her feel better about herself ... that is truly one of the best things in life!
your mother is right - you have a very pretty heart.
from someone who reads your mother's blog (and has lost a lot of hair due to illness) - kathy
What a good girl! You can't say that about most adults.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous and lovely girl! So unselfish and kind and generous to be thinking of others in this way. Please tell her she looks beautiful with her new haircut, and also that she is an inspiration to others xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing...she looks adorable and all grown up at the same time. What a blessing that she is putting into action what she is learning from her parents, that's huge. I walked through Pottery Barn yesterday and saw your pillows and they are very nice. Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteoh sweet baby girl!!! i can feel your pain, sister friend. but it will grow back...then she's probably going to want to cut it off again. so don't think about that. ok: just think about playing tea party...immediately.
ReplyDeleteand don't post about this again because i love your blog and i want to read it, but my little girl is about to turn four and i'm having severe panic. please stop sasha...please.
i love you. don't feel like i'm bossing you.
now off you go to your tea party...
Really cute hair cut!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! She is the sweetest thing...
ReplyDeleteBlessings your way, Lil' Ava.
You look beautiful, Ava! My daughter has cut her hari twice for Locks of Love, too. I was always emotional too!
ReplyDeleteshe's an absolute doll. a little mini sasha. love that you donated the hair. GO AVA!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet thing to do! She has a beautiful heart, just like her momma!
ReplyDeletewhat a sweet sweet sweet thing she did....and to think some girl/woman will be made to 'feel' beautiful again b/c of her!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat neat thing she did though you must be proud
ReplyDeleteShe does look VERY grown up!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful heart and a beautiful girl.
Beautiful hair and heart!
ReplyDeletesuch a sweetie - what an amazing heart she has for others. Such a selfless act!
ReplyDeletexoxo
She's so brave!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is beautiful both inside and outside. I LOVE the hair cut and what a sweet gift for the person who will be blessed with Ava's gorgeous locks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful inside and out! Enjoy these moments. Sweet, sweet memories!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful girl!
ReplyDeleteMy hair is almost long enough to cut and donate. It's taking a lot longer than I thought it would. I've just about lost my patience and chopped it a time or two. But if Ava can do it, so can I! :)
Your daughter is such a cutie and obviously has a sweet spirit. She does look more mature with the new 'do!
ReplyDeleteShe looks beautiful! What a sweet, sweet girl to think to do that!
