There is something so relaxing about planting flowers, isn't there?
The hoodlums were so excited this morning, to see a bunch of things poking their heads out of our garden boxes already.
Oh I wish the sunshine would never leave. I love it so!
Speaking of sunshine, I was wandering around picking things up in the house this afternoon, and I realized that I've somehow been slowly sneaking sunny pops of yellow into every room. Little by little.
And please meet my mother's day gift. I got to pick it out my own self this year. Which cracked me up. Finally, after sixteen years of marriage, Adrain and I have matching night stands, and lamps!! I am loving the clean and simple look. Oh happy mother's day to me!! LOL
It's possible the yellow might be taking over our house right now. I am working on a planky looking sign design for this saying, and just finished this one with... you guessed it, YELLOW lettering! I haven't distressed the lettering yet, and I haven't perfected the sturdy-ness of it for selling in my shop, but so far, I like it. It's sitting here to dry and stay out of the way of many small children that have taken over my house this afternoon. (They're everywhere! Ha!)
Yep... more yellow. But honestly, I think the winter just about did me in this year, so I must have been compensating by putting bursts of yellow all around.
And before I go, I keep meaning to put this on here... and I keep forgetting. This is the photo of our Seder dinner table before everyone arrived. I think we had 18 people show up. Dat's alotta peeple.
What have you been up to today? Do you have any fun mother's day plans for yourself or your mother?

Can I move in with you?
ReplyDeleteYes. But you have to order when we go out to eat. LOL
Deletelovely sasha. i miss yellow. she and i used to be close friends but then we broke up for a bit. i may invite her back soon. {and congrats on winning alicia's giveaway!}
ReplyDeleteSasha, Where oh where did you get those AMAZING yellow lamps.
ReplyDelete(If you have a minute can you e-mail me the source pretty please at rowlesgowings@netscape.net
Thanks a bunch, Margie
I found them at Target!
Deletelove all the yellow...also going to be adding some of it in the new house...slowly but surely. :)
ReplyDeleteloving that sign!!!
Ooo. I love the pops of yellow, especially the throw and the lampshades! And the sign is very cool. It all looks so happy together! I don't think Mother's day will be a big deal this year...usually I have my mom and mother-in-law (and the dads too of course) come for lunch after church. This year, my son will be sleeping off Prom and facing an AP Physics exam on Monday (shudder). I don't plan to cook though!
ReplyDeleteLove your bedroom linens...where did you find the striped throw? I've been looking for one!
ReplyDeleteIt's actually a duvet cover from West Elm. I was originally going to use it for guest bedding, but it looked so sweet with my quilt that I made a last minute change and kept it in my room instead!
Deletei still have dreams of coming to your dinner. : )
ReplyDeleteyour bedroom is dreamy. love the light airyness with pops of yellow. i need to sasha-fy our bedroom. it's dark green and looks like a cave. it definitely puts ya to sleep... so i guess it's not so bad after all. ha!
Someday we totally WILL have dinner together! WE WILL. :)
DeleteI'm snickering at the "Sasha-fy" comment. You crack me up.
I love your pretty yellow flower sheets! Where are they from?
ReplyDeleteThank you! After hunting for what seemed like months, I found them at TJ Maxx.
DeleteI have that bedding I luuuurve that bedding! I want that lamp soooo bad. I'm on a gray kick but I'm trying not to add too much yellow cause everyone says its too trendy but I just love it! And that sign makes me swoon I need it in my life!
ReplyDeleteOh and did you get the Euro shams for the quilt? When I ordered mine they were on back order... until August!! What's up with that? LOL
DeleteLove all your "yellow pops"! I have been gardening too! Happy Mother's Day to you!
ReplyDeleteNancy
I love, love, love, little pops of yellow! Your home is gorgeous but, I can't hardly even believe that kids live there!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I promise they DO live here. You'll notice I don't show their rooms often... yeah, that's because a bomb has gone off in both of them.
DeleteI pretty much have always had a "messy room policy" where basically they can do whatever they want to their rooms,(usually with a loosely enforced monthly pick up day) but I do ask that they put toys away in their rooms when ever they are finished playing with them in the rest of the house... now that, I can live with! It's always worked really well for us, though it's a ton easier now that they don't really do as many "toys" being older and such. :)
The quilt on your bed is so lovely! Where did you find it?
ReplyDeleteBallard Design. :)
DeleteMany thanks!
DeleteSo beautiful Sasha!! Isn't Target fantastic lately? I love how you put your bed together; it all works so well. And that sign you are working on...WOW.
ReplyDeleteHope you have some sunshine today! We're going on two weeks of rainy days here in the Northeast...ahhh! It's hard!
I really love your hints of yellow. I must need yellow in my life since most of the walls in my house are a Tuscan yellow. Thanks for posting your Sedar dinner tablescape. I've been checking in to see it after your post on putting your dinner together. (Does that make me a dinner party stalker). Ahem....
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha... "Diner party stalker." Good one.
Deleteit's appropriate...all those yellow pops. it's the lemonade makin' mama's house;) all so pretty. going flower shopping today. wayyyy overdue. what's wrong with me? love you girl.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so put together! Enjoy your garden sprouts!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks amazing, as usual, and I love hearing you tell me all about it! I recently purchased an old galvanized feeder that looks very similar to your wood tote that you filled with flowers, which is exactly what I planned on doing with our feeder. It's about to make its appearance on our new outdoor patio coffee table in a few days! We're preparing for a big gathering next week, so there's lots of prep going on around here too :-) Happy Mother's Day to you, Sasha! Thank you for being an inspiration to so many! XO Laura at The Ironstone Nest
ReplyDeleteyellow is just your thing! i love those lamps beside your bed. SO fun!! oh, there's just too much goodness here...i don't know what to say! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow. Now I'm thinking of a pale yellow instead of a pale aqua for my room and bathroom.
ReplyDeleteYellow is so happy. I have a yellow (like screaming yellow bedroom that I haven't painted in the move yet,) and pale yellow playroom. It just makes you smile on a bad day.
ReplyDeleteOooh... Since your Seder post, I've been bugging my friends to hold one next year. :-)
Love the bedroom! Where did you get the quilt! I have been looking forever, but can't find one that isn't a gazillion dollars!
ReplyDeleteLove your home and pops of yellow. I too think planting flowers, and even weeding flowers is very relaxing.
ReplyDeleteHi Sasha,
ReplyDeleteToday is Friday and it's late in the evening and I am catching up on your blog posts. I had a really rough day today and I gotta tell you, this post is the sunshine in my day. : )
That bucket with those yellow flowers makes me smile. Thanks for making my day.
I love your white pitcher with the pompom flowers! Where did you get them?
ReplyDeleteYour room is adorable! I love the simple look of the white nightstands...where did you get them??
