Pretty-Pretty.

I'm not sure if it's just the way I was born, but I love pretty.  There are literally times when I see something and I almost feel an ache in my heart because something is so lovely and if only I could capture it somehow.  Preserve that moment in still form and savor it like a sweet flavor.  I suppose that might be why I adore photography of all varieties.  Enter, Instagram.  It was time to replace/upgrade my phone last month, so my man researched it and bought me a certain type of phone, all because it's supposed to have one of the top of the line cameras right now.  That boy sure loves me.

I thought I'd share a few of my instas with you guys for the fun of it.   I love the quick editing you can do with Instagram.  I tend to like that sort of instant gratification. 

  My kids have a favorite country road.  It has a lot of dips and someone who shall remain nameless *cough*myhusband*cough* is often talked into driving quite fast (yes my brother is a police officer, don't tell) over those dips to the delight of two hoodlums.  (I'm ashamed.)  Anyway, returning from Grandpa's house, I chose this road and informed both hoodlums that I would not be breaking the law for them.  I did, however, break for cows and barns.  Cows are adorable.  Having milked and fed them, my man would disagree. 

 (And P.S.  My man is normally a very law-abiding citizen.  Just not on this particular country road.)  These cows were very curious.  Cows make me laugh.

  This wasn't an instagram photo... but it was one I took with my phone and thought was pretty. See what I mean?  I can't help myself... and really, I do live in a very pretty place.  (Especially when the skies are not gray and threatening rain.) You literally have to make "hay" while the sun shines... but when it shines, it's GLORIOUS.

Now I've got to depart from our regularly scheduled program (grin) and show a few before and afters just for the heck of it. Most are from my big camera... a couple are from my phone.  We found this darling, beat-up (and uber affordable) desk at the Goodwill.  Adrain helped Ava choose her paint color... and while I strongly disliked it... (not being a creamy white and all) it was her choice to make and I respect it.  

 And really, all said and done, it's very Ava.  I fixed the vintage pulls with a little wood putty and re-arranging.  So much better!  My budding authoress is in love and is often sitting here writing stories and poems.  Gosh I love that. 

 I couldn't help myself here.  I was compelled to add it into this post... Gosh you just feel for him, don't you?  One can spot a belly flop a mile away. (Though I'm so blown away that both my water-fearing hoodlums have come so far in such a short space of time.)

 This was an Instagram photo and when they're tiny, that little soft-focus dot isn't quite as annoying as it is when they are huge.  Nevertheless, it's still an adorable photo... my boy killing the spiders for me in my hydrangea bush and bringing my flowers in...

 Just so I could have a pretty bouquet in a pitcher my mama bought me.

Anticipation.
