It's not just paint...

Ummm.... remember that time (last week) when I wrote that post about the free paint?

Yeah.  That was cool.

And umm... do you remember how I said it seemed like a gift just for me?  Remember that?

That was awesome.

(If you're doing a Chris Farley Show Saturday Night Live impersonation right this minute, you get a gold star.)

Well guess what?

Last night at about ten o'clock, I got a text from a friend asking me if we wanted a free puppy. And considering that I still have hoodlums who sometimes cry over the loss of our little miss Lucy girl, we had been spending the past month hunting for just the right pup ever since my man gave the "okay."  (Which took some doing, let me tell you. Bless his heart.)  We found a Beagle breeder and got all excited only to have the Mama doggy die, along with all her puppies.  Nearly broke my heart.  I checked the paper every week but puppies are darned expensive.  Very out of the Dave Ramsey budget.

However... free is not.

So last night when a friend contacted me and asked if we'd be willing to adopt this little (soon-to-be-big) bundle of hairy sweetness for free... yeah... we jumped on it.  It was the answer to so many prayers from two very precious hoodlums... and the answer to many of mine as well because of the timing, and the fact that she was free.  Oh how He loves us.  Amen?

So please meet little Miss Daisy.  Our newest family member. A mix of lab, rottweiler, and shepherd.  We're already just a little bit in love....

And be warned.  I may take eleventy hundred more photos in the coming days.

  31. How adorable is Miss Daisy! The joy that a dog brings to children is amazing. She is a cutie and reminds me of our Holly who is part black lab and chow and a amazing dog!

  32. I'm in love! She is beautiful. And those eyes! My husband grew up with a Rottweiler/black lab mix and she was a wonderful dog. She was a loveable family pet but became protective when she needed to be. Just a great balance. I'm very happy for you and your family. Can't wait to see what shenanigans she gets into! I have to be honest, when you said that you were getting a beagle puppy I didn't see you guys as a beagle kind of family. Miss Daisy seems like a perfect fit!

  37. I've been out of town so just took a peek and saw these adorable photos. Welcome little Miss Daisy! You are truly blessed to have landed in such a wonderful home. So happy to see that sweet little face popping up on your Mama's blog. I think the family was definitely missing having some dog energy around the place! Can't wait to read about all of your adventures.
    Much love - Laura
