Last week...

As I sit down, exhausted and happy... to write this, my laundry is finally caught up after a week of ignoring it, clean sheets are back on the guest bed and my house smells like freshly baked brownies.  The occasion.... I'm catching up after playing all week long with Becky from Farmgirl Paints.  I baked the brownies for two hoodlums who were very patient with a mostly absent Mama all week.  Becky rolled into Seattle on Monday and it felt a little bit like Christmas for me.  She is the most fun.  We party it up.
I have to confess that I didn't take many pictures during our time.  I normally do... but I was doing a lot of driving this week because we kind of traveled the globe, so she was the one instagramming up a storm and snapping photos of everything for us.  (You know, it's not good to instagram and drive.) We hit my favorite mountain hike first thing Tuesday morning and celebrated glorious (and rare) Pacific Northwest sunshine, while feeling awed by God's creation- mountains surrounding us on every side.  Then we came home and watched a comedian that had us almost peeing our pants we were laughing so hard.

The next morning we hit a swanky spa for pedicures, went from there out to a place we had planned to do some ocean kayaking (only they had closed early for the season sadly), sipped iced tea to the sound of lapping waves, hit a few cute antique stores for some window shopping, then got ready and went to my bookclub (because all my besties wanted to meet her and I wanted to show her off, because she's that wonderful.)

The next day, we walked around a lake and then spent the whole day antique shopping, and it was a blast.  We like a ton of the same things so we had fun pointing out treasures to one another.  I was really proud of myself because I had a very slim little budget for playing all week, and I stayed well under it.  Shopping is very hard for me... especially this kind of shopping.  Oh I can go crazy.  But I didn't.  Praise the Lord.  Ha!

Then I had to hand her off to Lissa... it was sad to see her go.  And my dog (who fell head over heels in love with the Beckster) cried and whined when I got home after dropping her off.  She kept going to the door where she had been sleeping, looking for her and whining.

I love this sweet friend.  I feel like we've known each other our whole lives.  She gave me a lot of grace this week as I juggled kid issues and some other stressful circumstances... Such a good friend.  I am blessed by her continually.  I am blessed by her sweetness, her generosity, her prayers, and her constant encouragement.  She challenges me well and I just adore her. She is the real deal.

Isn't this a cute idea?  It's an old window frame (no glass) with old ornaments hanging from it!

Please note (besides cute Becks in the hand mirror) the girly ruffled curtains in the background.  How fun are those?!
I am so tired from all the fun we had, as I sit and finish up this post about this sweet woman.  And you know... I'm pretty sure it's the best kind of tired there is.  Thank you Lord, for precious friends.  What a gift.
