Summer Home Tour (Guest space, etc.)

I have to confess something.  I am a sucker for a good home tour.  When my blog crush Edie posted a few of her home pictures and shared about the Home Tour linky party going on over here, I got all excited.

Someday I will convince Adrain to help me run a Bed and Breakfast.  And then you're all invited to come stay.  Promise you will.  In the meantime, I'll just enjoy every scrap of company I can get my hands on.  It's not an exaggeration that I could have overnight guests several times a month and be perfectly happy.  (They might enjoy it a bit more if our house was larger than 1500 square feet, or if there was a bathroom closer to the guest room... but hey... they get ME.  And you can't have everything ya know?) Ha!  You're probably tired of me showing this room but the truth is, it's my favorite room in the house, perfectly "Sasha," and so every time I tweak or change one leettle bitty thing, I feel the need to share the entire space all over again.  A home tour is perfect for this.  (If you want to see lots of house pictures of the rest of our home, click here.)

You may remember my french door dilemma.  (I posted on it ages ago and don't feel like scouring my archives to link it for ya.) Anyway, there was glass frosting spray on the door panes.  And that was great and we made sure you couldn't seen anyone changing or whatever... but over time little smudgy fingerprints began to mess up the pretty frosting spray until I couldn't take it one more second and I scraped it all back off.  Apparently glass frosting spray isn't a long-term solution.  Which, quite frankly, I should know, being that I've had to re-frost our front door window about eight times over the course of the last decade.  Anyhow, I decided to make some shades and I got a bunch of emails and photos from you guys on your own window solutions.  I went to Lowe's for some curtain rods, and ran across the PERFECT roller shades on clearance for $14.00.  I did a little happy dance and Adrain installed them for me.

The big blue and green art work on the wall is from an old painting that I no longer wanted to look at.  So I painted over it.  I do that sometimes.
Freshly laundered summer printed sheets are on the bed, all ready for company!

This is the hallway right outside our guest space.  I am still madly in love with these shoe cabinets from Ikea.  They have made my life better.  They honestly have. (grin)

I know.  This framed post card moves all over my house.  I love it.
This is how my living room looks today.  It will likely look exactly like this all summer long.  I love the little pops of blue and green and gold.

Lastly.  Since I shared my ombre ruffled shower curtain here, I wanted to share our other tiny bathroom that the hoodlums share... but only because of the cute re-purposed artwork in here too.  (And y'all's comments about my voice, maturity, and personality had me laughing so hard!  And yes, I do say "y'all" and no, I'm not southern.  I grew up in Montana.  People say "y'all" there sometimes.  I guess it rubbed off.)  I painted over an existing piece and then taped off the number four (four peeps in my house). I love it.  And now I will never blog about my bathrooms ever again.  I'm just saying.

I'm loving the cute house tour going on here and linking up!  I'm also going to be posting a fun giveaway on my next post, from one of my favorite bloggers in the whole entire world.  (I keep trying to get her to adopt me as her little sister.) So stay tuned!

    1. PS - Would you ever consider using etching creme on the glass doors? Here is a link I found when googling the idea... http://www.hypheninteriors.com/2012/06/etching-a-window-for-privacy.html

Also, I don't believe that your living room with look like that all summer. Calling your bluff right now. You rearrange your stuff more than anyone ever. Which is awesome...just saying...you're bluffing on the living room arrangement.

    Love you.
