Gimme some weekend beauty help! (Almay video awesomeness included)

It was good to be back blogging on Friday and so good to hear from you guys in comments, emails, Facebook and Instagram. It made my heart smile to know I was missed by a few of you! Because of my break, I have all manner of thoughts on the subject of blogging and boundaries and priorities and such, but it will take me a while to get around to posting about all of that. Until I do, I've got a big file of photos and many words rolling around in my head that are anxious to spill out into text. So... I will probably be posting a bit more than normal this week. Can ya handle it? (grin)

I've also got a giveaway happening this week, but for today, I am so excited to have been asked by BlogHer to share the second episode in this Almay-sponsored video series, 'Different Occasions. Different Looks. Always Pretty.' In this video, find out how you can get Kate’s Weekend Wear Look! (Which incidentally... I really need right at this moment.) I have been stuck in a very serious rut when it comes to wardrobe and makeup because I'm not actually going many places this summer. In fact, I just recently started a daily devotional called "Frumps to Pumps" which tells you pretty much all that you really need to know about me lately, and don't even get me started on my weekend wear this summer! I have become a lazy person. Plain and simple. I keep telling myself that one can not live in yoga pants, pony tails and mascara only. (cringe)

I have always been a make-up girl but I think sometimes, especially on hot days, it can feel like work. The truth is, it always makes me feel better to put in a bit of effort.  Can you relate to this feeling?  That said, I am very much looking forward to using the tips in this video, and I hope you are inspired by it too!!

  2. I've always been a make-up girl myself. It really makes me feel so much better even on days that I don't leave the house! And I love almay make-up. I recently switched to it and love it!

  5. Its so funny, the assumptions we make about bloggers. Just yesterday I pulled up your blog to find the lipstick you wear because your makeup always looks so pretty in the pictures you share of yourself. (Where or where do you find your lipstick - no stores seem to carry it!!!)

Who is the author of trumps and pumps? Sounds like a good devo. Years ago when our children were younger I went through this season. Believe me, it's only a season so no worries. I gotta tell ya though once I turned forty all that stopped bothering or worrying me. Girl, I think it will be a while before you see forty. All I can say is God made you beautiful inside and out.
