Shop talk, news and winners.

Hi Ya peeps!  I feel like I'm rushing all the time now that school has begun.  Can anyone else relate?  Loved all your sweet responses on my previous post.  Wish we could grab a cup of tea and have that chat in real life!

Anyway, I had a birthday over the weekend. In fact, it was my 20th birthday in a row being kissed by this big guy.  I'm 38 now and have decided that THIS is going to be THE year.  (For exactly what, I'm not quite sure yet... but it's going to be epic.)  I was pretty much loved on the whole weekend.  My mama made me homemade tomato soup, my man bought gf cupcakes home Friday night, and then I was thrilled to get the Julia Child cookbook I've been wanting since I was a teenager, from my parents.  I can't wait to try it out!  We hiked again, this time with my brother and his little family and my parents who I'm grateful to say, did not die on the trail, fall off the mountain pass, or collapse from the thinner mountain air.  (They don't really "do the hiking thing" so this was a legitimate concern.  Grin.)

I organized my little studio.  Which was a good thing since I couldn't find a darn thing after a summer of dumping things in there and running away.  It was intense organization, and took me a solid day but now I'm creating and getting things done so it was worth it.  My man hung an extra shelf in there for me too, and I traded out a few things to make it prettier since I'm in there working daily, once again.  (Does that lamp look familiar?)

Fingers crossed that my shop will open on Monday, bright and early.  I've been working hard and I have nine new prints, a new dishtowel design that I hope and pray you are going to LOVE, and of course, the ball jar dishtowels and returning favorite prints.  My Christmas Garland reservation list will also open on Monday, and I'll make sure you have instructions and details at that time. I will be making a limited amount of them again this year because the shop will be closed all through December, so the earlier you get your name on the reservation list, the better chance you have of getting some- it's all first come, first serve. (I've even roped a handful of my girlfriends into helping me with production, so you can know that your items were made with love, giggles and crafty-bonding time.)

(**This part is for those of you that have been in contact with me about the Christmas garlands already over the past year- we had a computer malfunction a few weeks ago and we lost some files that have as yet been unrecoverable.  If I told you that I was saving your information and would be in touch... but  you haven't heard from me this past week, please Re-email me right now (lemonademakinmama@comcast.net) letting me know you were one of the emails I lost BEFORE my reservation list opens and the flurry of emails begin.  Thank you!**)

Before I forget, the randomly chosen winners of Jeanne Oliver's Home for the Holidays ecourse were: Sheri, Jill Culbertson, and Jennifer Dvorak.  (Email me at lemonademakinmama@comcast.net to claim your prize!)

Okay friends, I'm busting out Etsy items for you, so I've got to get back at it.  (I get so nervous the week before reopening.  I'm just glad it's only YOU guys that I'm opening for and not some strangers I don't even know.  Hahahahahaha!)

  7. You're gonna LOVE your new cookbook! No one does it better than Julia. Just be sure to try her favorite dish (and mine): "Boeuf Bourguignon." Her "Salade Nicoise" is also to-die-for. (In fact, I'm making that for my daughter's upcoming, French-themed baby shower.) Bon appetit!
