Avery labels for the Holidays... and a GIVEAWAY!
Recently I was given the opportunity to try out a ton of Avery products, such as labels in various shapes and sizes, and printable tags. I have been using Avery labels for my Etsy shop for years, because they are a fantastic way to keep my brand streamlined. So when they asked if I'd like to experiment with their products for the holidays, I jumped at the chance. Obviously, you can use labels for organization and creativity so why not incorporate them into celebrating the upcoming holiday season? (Some of my favorite ways to use labels are on jars. Oh, and parties.)
When the box of labels arrived on my doorstep I thought I would give the Avery Design & Print Online a try. Typically, I don't have the easiest time figuring out new programs and find them kind of intimidating, but after using it for several different items, I can't recommend it highly enough. (In fact, I may have a label-making addiction now. My kids are like, "Hey Mom.. you don't need to label everything in the house.") (grin) (And um. Yeah, I do.)
It was easy to go to the site, type in the number of the label packages which is located right on the front, and then the fun began--designing custom labels and tags! You can search through hundreds of images and clip-art graphics from Avery's library or even add your own images and photos. (And Martha Stewart even has her own cute collection of graphics available in there too!) I loved the variety of fonts, colors, shapes and pre-made images available. The options are limitless.
As you can imagine, the creative possibilities were nearly keeping me awake at night.
What I loved most about this fun project was how simple it was to use a bit of creativity and come up with something right away that looked completely professional. I also loved not having to go to a print shop or buy special software to create these. Because y'all... that is not my thing. I need simple and easy.
I was going for a chalkboard look on this, after seeing some inspirational ideas on Pinterest. I used the square sticker labels for this, but decided that I wanted to adhere it to a tag and tie it onto the cocoa mix with twine, rather than place the label right onto the jar (Although that would have been totally adorable too.).
(My kids were hovering over me as I took these photos, trying to eat all of the Andes mints and drink the cocoa. Little hoodlums.)
This one is my very favorite. Can you guess why? I downloaded my own artwork and created the cutest gift tags EVER, in the history of cute tags. (I love you, Avery labels!) They punch out. Seriously... made my day. I'm using these for all my Christmas gifts this year. You could put just about anything on a tag and it would look cute. You know I'm right too, don't you? Imagine putting the face of your child on each tag when you wrap their gifts! (Or putting their faces on tags for grandparent gifts--how much would they love that?)
(These little reindeer tags are also available by the sheet, with the striped twine, in my shop. FYI.)
Loved this one, too. Ava was my big helper, holding a loaf of gf choc-chip pumpkin bread. I wrapped a piece of parchment and wrapping paper around the loaf and topped it with a cute brown kraft label. Honestly, I didn't even know they made brown Kraft labels, and I can think of dozens of ways to use these for gift-giving and packaging.
This is also a favorite. When you log into the Avery Design & Print Online, you can choose to edit all the labels on the page... or (get this) edit them one at a time. This is perfect for hosting a party (or book club) where you need several labels that say different things. I used the matte silver foil labels here, and used a few unprinted labels for the backsides. I was able to create tags using a length of ribbon, as well as some picks with labels on them for the different kinds of cheese I was serving that evening.
I like to think that made my guests feel special. It's the little touches that turn a gathering into a part-ay!
