A little Video chat about the direction I'd like to take my blog in 2017

I have fallen kind of in love with the vlog world lately.  I love watching and listening to people that I enjoy, chat about the topics they want to share.  It's a connection, and I am big on those.  I'd really like to do some more throughout this year as time allows and topics pop up.  (I promise to look in a mirror and maybe comb my windblown hair (to myself- "seriously girl!") before the next one. Ha!)

I feel like having them wrap up in under ten minutes is about right, but I'm feeling my way through this, so some may be more and others may go over. In all honestly I probably couldn't have chosen a more scatter brained day to do this but I chose not to overthink and simply gave you my real self!

Click here to watch... (fingers crossed that I did this right!)

XOXO,
Sasha

  1. I am a long time reader, first time commenter. I'm sooo very glad that you're back. You have uplifted me with your words throughout the years, and at times have even convicted me. I would love to hear more about being thankful, feeling content, recognizing blessings in life, even in the midst of dark, scary, and sad times. I love your approach to organization and to decorating, so I would love to see you address your home via your vlog. Recipes, parenting, the shift of personal relationships throughout life from friendships to family- you've addressed all of these topics throughout your blog posts and I would love to hear you and watch you address some of this on your vlog, also. I'm excited to follow you and see how your blog evolves over the year. Happy New Year!!!

  2. Just got done watching your video--you could not be cuter!! I am also a first time commenter...in fact I usually just scroll right past the videos on other blogs but I had to watch yours I have always loved your genuineness and honesty and as the mother of teenagers of similar age to yours have always related to your issues on that!! I love the idea of a mix of pretty posts with more thoughtful posts and am going to be interested to see what roads you go down. Happy new year!!

  4. Really enjoyed seeing you do this video and looking forward to more! I think all the things you are hoping to speak about are great, especially being thankful and content with what we have. I spent the last two years watching a friend who had it ALL lose her marriage, home and lifestyle. This was some one whose life I did covet and now I feel so foolish not recognizing all the blessings in my own life that were far more valuable than "stuff". Learning more about your perspective on covetousness and thankfulness would be great. Thanks for putting yourself out there and sharing, you truly are a blessing to so many.

  5. I love this Sasha! Your blog was one of the very first blogs I started reading and I have so enjoyed all of your posts and heartfelt topics over the years. What a great idea to truly connect with us ladies. I think we are all a little desperate for "real" right now. Thank you for inspiring me! Can't wait to see what's next! 6. Any time I follow a blog, I always wonder what the person sounds like in real life. I love that listening to your video felt like reading your writing, with all the spirit and personality and genuine heart shining through the screen.

What I have always enjoyed about your blog are those three characteristics I just mentioned. It hasn't mattered whether you're talking about things I can relate to (i.e. home, crafting, faith) or things I don't (i.e. being a mom). What has always stood out is your desire to live the life that makes the best sense for you and for your family. So something that stood out to me in your video was the mention of being covetous. I struggle with that a lot, especially because my husband and I are in a weird period of life that feels like a pause or an interim. "Why can't we just figure it out and move forward?", I wonder. So I do look forward to hearing more of your thoughts on that.

But honestly, I look forward to whatever you feel led to write or vlog about...even the very real, sometimes entertaining struggles of living the grey-hair life. As much as we want to embrace that, it's still hard sometimes, isn't it? ;) Thank you for being you, and for being willing to bring us along on your journey.

  8. First things first, your hair is beautiful, don't pluck a thing! Everything on your list is something I want to hear about. in fact, I cant really even prioritize what I am most interested in, its all so good. You have a true gift , it seems, for sharing your authentic self. Very much looking forward to your blog reboot. The video aspect, mixed with your very gifted writing, is really something to look forward to. I appreciate the somewhat rare gem that you are, willing to keep it real, and open yourself up to others in an effort to build community by sharing the big and the little, the deep and the fluff. Your blog is uniquely you, something not easy to find. I am thankful that you are returning to us with both new and old perspective. The best is yet to come!

  9. Your hair looks gorgeous! I like to say my hair is silver, instead of grey. Looking forward to sharing a great year. I read all of Jennifer's books and Marie Kondo and living with less is so liberating. Thanks for sharing your heart! Blessings!

  14. One topic to maybe discuss is how to find time to serve and volunteer in church while having little ones at home (4 littles for me). It's a struggle to want to do it when the mental exhaustion sets in. We attend weekly and I pray about it and sometimes feel like God is telling me to serve my family more?? Any advice would be great! By the way, it's so great to see you!

  15. Yay! I like that you are going to do both, written and video! I would love some real life, too - I miss seeing how you redecorate your home, because that is a ministry too - to your family and others, as well as budgeting - loved all your posts about this is how you grocery shopped, what you made for dinner etc... Those are intentional things to that you did for your family and by sharing blessed others!

  17. Hi Sasha! I came across your blog over the summer and I just love it! I feel the Lord led me to it, because It really spoke to me at a time well needed in regards to family and teens. I really appreciate your openness and the fact that you just "keep it real". As a mom and for women in general, that is so refreshing! I am very happy you decided to come back (I was totally bummed when you were going to stop doing your posts!) All the topics you mentioned in your video sound great and I can't wait to hear more!
    Blessings!

  22. Glad to see you returning to your blog and love hearing your voice. Your creativity and genuine expressivity are wonderful, insightful as always. Totally adore your lovely salt and pepper hair, eyes and makeup. My heart skipped a beat when I noticed a cute little nose hoop making your blue eyes brighter lighting up your entire face. The nose ring looks very natural on your face like its been there forever. Turning 41 soon, with lots more not so pretty grey hair as yours. Don't know why I'm waiting since I know its something I've always wanted forever since college. Seems like I continue talking about it, but just can't muster the courage to do it, maybe afraid what others might think. Would love to hear you VLOG about your own experience or share with me.
