Beautifully put! Before I even started reading the post I was admiring your little girl's hair! My 4 year old is lucky if we brush her hair every other day ;-) Then 5 minutes after she has all these short whispy strands in her eyes. But you're right. I do need to take the time to sit with her and brush gently...not quickly as we rush out the door. She's already so grown up. Thanks for the reminder.

Yes, we will miss life if we don't take the time for all thses things that truly matter most, this is contentment the way God intended. Don't you love how agreeable dogs are to let us dress them up, especially the big ones? Yogi wore his Texans tee shirt for the last 2 playoff games and he loved it. I agree. I just went shopping for bras with my youngest daughter. I thought as I sat outside the fitting room that I would not always be sitting there with "little girl" bras in my lap. Time goes by so quickly and I don't want to miss it.

I just blogged about my restful weekend camping and how I miss all those things you are reminding me to take the time for when I have laundry, floors, and dinner to make. Perfect timing this post--and so was coming home to my pretty packaged necklaces--I really wanted to give one away--but I think I'll let my little one borrow either whenever she wants--they can both stay home that way: )

Your post touched my heart today. My daughter is away at college so I can totally relate to the moments with the kids going by way too quickly. We recently had to put down our family pet and seeing your cute pooch reminded me of her. Then you talked about watching Father of the Bride with your family....yeah, that movie alwyas makes me laugh and cry all at the same time.
I see it finally snowed. I hope you were able to have your open house before the snow hit.
